PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Customer: Electricity Northwest Ltd
MediPark, which is being created by the University Hospital of South Manchester, in Wythenshawe, aims to attract major life science and medical research companies to more than 500,000 sq ft of offices, laboratories and manufacturing plants.
It is one of a number of linked sites around Manchester Airport, including Wythenshawe town centre, that forms Greater Manchester’s Enterprise Zone.
By 2026, MediPark is expected to provide around 4,500 new jobs and 250,000m2 of new commercial floorspace.
The new electricity infrastructure will be able to service MediPark and other developments in Greater Manchester Enterprise Zone such as Wythenshawe Town Centre.
Therefore, it is vital that MediPark has a reliable and low maintenance solution.
Working with Electricity Northwest Ltd, Hawker Siddeley Switchgear were awarded the opportunity to provide an 11 panel switchboard of the Eclipse Switchgear to MediPark, allowing them to have a reliable power supply with minimal downtime and disruption.
