PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Customer: Joint venture - AMK, Aecom, Murphys, Kier
Installation: AMP 6
Major upgrade work has started on the Deephams Sewage Works in Edmonton in order to develop an improved sewage treatment process.
The upgrade will consist of replacement effluent streams, including new flow to full treatment pumping station, primary settlement, activated sludge plant (incorporating IFAS), final settlement, tertiary treatment, CHP engines, and a new high voltage network with upgraded and new connections.
Power at the site will be distributed mainly at 11kV with some parts of the 3.3kV distribution network being retained.
The new HV network will comprise of a new Main 11kV distribution network and CHP 11kV switchboard.
A new PMS system will need to be provided, designed and configured to monitor and control the HV switchgear associated with both the new and retained power generation and distribution plant.
Finally the system will be based on the distributed I/O connected via a fibre optic ring and monitored and controlled via a new PMS SCADA system.
Through the existing framework, Hawker Siddeley Switchgear are able to provide Thames Water with an additional 42 panel Eclipse switchboard to add to the new HV network.
